By the end of this course you will be able to:

• Explain the fire triangle and how each principle applies to extinguishment
• Identify the five classes of fire and match the correct extinguisher type to each
• Use the PASS technique to operate a fire extinguisher safely and correctly
• Decide correctly when to fight a fire and when to evacuate without attempting suppression
• Carry out evacuation duties, room checks and building sweeps safely and systematically
