Course 07 — Foundation Level

By the end of this course you will be able to:

• Apply the ABC principles — Accuracy, Brevity and Clarity — to every transmission
• Use callsigns correctly and apply the Alliance standard transmission format
• Spell names, locations and references using the NATO phonetic alphabet
• Check radio equipment at the start of every shift and use it correctly on duty
• Transmit urgent and emergency messages correctly and maintain accurate radio logs
